WE SHALL MEET IN THE PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO DARKNESS

“You had to live—did live, from habit that became instinct— in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every moment scrutinized.” The duet is inspired by the dystopian novel "1984" by George Orwell and the surrealistic paintings of Rene Magritte. The dancers are part of an at appearance utopian society , in which people’s lives are constantly monitored and unwiillingly manipulated. A civilization in which human beings enact a life in order to fulfil a script. It’s a play of knowing and unknowing reality, a ‘game’ of lying to loved ones and hiding huge secrets. " If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever. „ „They can make you say anything but they can’t make you believe it. They can’t get inside you. „ The main topics are freedom, manipulation, lying, control of the informations, rebellion, solidarity, respect, selfishness and betray. All topics that are for us very relevant and a big part of our current society. "It’s not so mach staying alive, it’s staying human. That’s important. What counts is that we don’t betray each other „
